The Irish Journal of European Law

The Irish Journal of European Law (IJEL) is Ireland’s leading journal dedicated to the analysis of European law. Its readership is based both in Ireland and further afield thanks to its dissemination through Westlaw and HeinOnline.

IJEL Editorial Board

The IJEL is undergoing a governance review and a restructuring of its editorial board with a view to ensuring that it continues to be managed in line with best international practice for similar publications. A new board will be appointed in the coming months. While this process takes place, Maureen O’Neill (Vice President and former Chair of the ISEL) and Dr Mary Catherine Lucey (University College Dublin) will steer the Journal as interim editors.

Latest Volume of IJEL

The latest volume of the Irish Journal of European Law, Volume 22, was published on 30 April 2020 and is available to ISEL members to download here.  This volume of the IJEL is also available on  and it will be available on Heinonline in due course.

Volume 22 (2019-2020) features valued contributions from Judge Síofra O’Leary of the ECtHR, Prof. Suzanne Kingston, Prof. Liz Heffernan, Dr. Noreen O’Meara, Darach Connolly, Senior Associate, DLA Piper and Dr. Vincent Power, Partner at A&L Goodbody.
